We are excited to announce the Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking’s spring 2021 program schedule. For the safety of our participants, instructors, and lecturers all programming will be virtual. We welcome our paper fans near and far to join us for our spring workshop season!

We reserve the right to change and cancel workshops in order to protect public safety based on recommendations from Georgia Institute of Technology, the Georgia Department of Public Health and the American Alliance of Museums. All participants will be notified in a timely manner of any changes to the program.

Virtual Silk-Screen Printmaking Demonstration Lecture

Description: Dive into the world of printmaking as guest artist Sanaz Haghani discusses the process of silk-screen printmaking from home on T-shirts, fabric, papers, and other materials. In this hybrid demonstration/lecture, Haghani will discuss techniques for developing beautiful prints with great craftsmanship using screen printing with drawing fluid processes. Using this method participants will learn how to use drawing fluid to draw directly on the screen or transfer an image to the screen and then use the drawing fluid to create and image. The workshop is open to all levels.

Virtual Tunnel Book Workshop

Description: Create a fun and interactive book with the tunnel book structure. The book consists of paper layers forming a “tunnel” with a foreground, mid-ground, and background. Participants will make a book using their own text and images. Instructional PDF available for purchase. All skill levels welcome.

Optional workshop Instructional PDF: $10.00 for 1 participant, $5.00 GT faculty staff or student or museum member.

Join guest artist Chad Heyward as he discusses the process of pulp painting to create images that don't sit on the page, but are the page. Heyward will demonstrate how he explores patterns to create abstract images. Heyward’s work is featured in the spring exhibit Ruminate.
