The Mobile Mill is a traveling ‘pop-up’ paper studio that actively challenges traditional notions of art practice, craft culture and education by broadening preconceived notions of where art can be made and who can make it – making the radical effort to push beyond studio walls. The artist behind the Mobile Mill, Jillian Bruschera is an interdisciplinary artist and arts-activist creating works in visual art, writing, public installation, body performance, and social practice. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, Jillian graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2010, receiving a B.A. in Studio Art: Drawing and Painting as well as a B.A. in Visual Communications. In 2014 she earned a M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts: Book and Paper from Columbia College Chicago in Illinois, where she also served as Adjunct Faculty and employee at The Center for Book and Paper Arts. As founder and proprietor of The Mobile Mill, Jillian works as a traveling teaching artist in hand papermaking. Facebook: facebook.com/mobilemill Instagram: themobilemill
