Atrophy no.1  Michael Whitehead    Louisiana State University  Natural pigment drawing on hay/rice straw/ abaca pulp painting   "Atrophy no. 1" is an 11"x17" pulp painting that uses the natural earth tones of hay, rice staw, and abaca pulp to render a view of the support beams of a deteriorating gable roof. The angular and abstract lines of the pulp painted beams are enhanced with the application of hand drawn pen & ink wood texturing.
