Burgundy contour lines of pulp painting meander across white and gray tree trunks as fiery reds, yellows, deep purples and blacks burn their way into the foreground from behind the forest of trees depicted in this four-panel work of art. Sky blue, turquoise, and yellow ochre surface from behind the gray, cooling the surface appearance of the pale trees. Vigorous mark-making with paper-pulp defines the tree trunks and the fiery background which sit in contrast with each other in this piece.
