Artist Name
Andrea Peterson
Art Image
Dark crinkled cover, title page with a cloud form and letterpress type, and 4 spreads feature in the photograph of artist book “4 Cardinal Directions” by Andrea Peterson. The “north” spread is a rubbing of the veins of a blue leaf over gray, topographic swirls. The “south” spread a leafy, tropical design with two hues of green and splotches of red. “East” is yellow with white spots, activated by a zig-zagging thread. “West” is a warm-cool interplay of brown tree rings and monolithic nighttime blue.

4 Cardinal Directions

Cotton rag and abaca pigmented papers, letterpress, collograph, relief, intaglio, lithography, walnut dyed cover, 10” x 6.75”
