Georgia Tech Students, Faculty and Staff are invited to the Robert C. Williams Museum of Paper Making for a free Paper Cuts workshop in celebration of International Education week. Participants will be introduced to the history of Paper Cuts and how cultures all over the world have used paper cuts for religious, celebratory and other purposes. Through an instructor demonstration, participants will learn how to make their own paper cut, using paper, cutting tools, and cutting mats.

Create a fun and interactive book with the tunnel book structure. The book consists of paper layers forming a “tunnel” with a foreground, mid-ground, and background. Participants will design simple abstract imagery for each layer of the book. All materials provided. This workshop is for Georgia Tech Students, Staff and Faculty. Join us for this fun workshop where participants will explore an early type of camera less photography. Use paper pre-coated with a mixture of chemicals, the power of the sun and plants to create your own cyanotypes. Participants will also learn about the history of cyanotypes from the technique’s invention, it’s first photographic use, to paper artist who create beautiful pieces of artwork with this technique. This workshop is for Georgia Tech Students, Staff and Faculty.

Virtual Tech’s Tactile Thursdays Origami Crane

The art of Japanese paper folding, origami, can turn a simple sheet of paper into a stunning creation. Join us for this workshop where we will be making origami cranes! Participants will have the opportunity to make several cranes, to keep and/or add to a chain of cranes for community display. All skill levels welcome.
