Three red, yellow, and green squares of varying angles are layered on top of gold, bronze, and silver brushstrokes. On top of them, handwritten text that says “stopped at the light / twinkling colors / maybe hello goodbye / bits and pieces” on four separate strips of beige paper.

Gina Fowler's meditation on traffic signals bring to mind the importance of motion and stillness in our everyday lives.

A collage on folded paper. Ringed cut-out ellipses of glittering golden paint tumble into the lower left corner of the card where they are met by a burning ring of red and orange torn paper. A shroud of purple tissue paper cools the background which is partially colored with orange pastel. A small flicker of red appears in the upper middle right like an ear beginning to listen.

Ziya Tarapore's gorgeous use of layering creates a multi-dimensional piece brimming with vibrant, warm colors and playful textures.

A small book of black cardstock collecting five metallic wallpaper collages and bound by hand-sewn black linen threads. Gold, silver, blue and brown earth tones abut each other in different strata both radial and linear.

In this collage, Gail Ray creates a fascinating juxtaposition of both modern shapes and vintage patterns.

Artist's Statement:

"I've enjoyed sharing in this challenge with you. My submittal is a book which is a smaller version of a bigger book I'm working on right now. The book is a response to some lovely contemporary luxury wallpaper samples from Vahallan which I discovered on Instagram. My collages are modern and geometric in response to the metallic and earthy designs. The designs are mounted on black cardstock and are hand sewn with linen threads."

"Sweet Dreams"

In Nina Meledandri's piece "Sweet Dreams", dried flowers dance playfully around a doll's head, creating an air of childlike whimsy and imagination.

Artist's Statement: '8x8", handmade paper, inkjet photo and mixed media. Paper may contain any combination of: abaca, cotton flax & recucled pulp and may be mixed with dried organic matter.'
