Program Description:

When learning how to make a book with a decorative sewn binding, the sewing card is a wonderful and useful tool to aid you in mastering simple to advanced sewing patterns. Practicing the mechanics of any sewing on a piece of two-dimensional card is tantamount to working on an actual book.

In this two-session virtual workshop, you will learn how to prepare and make sewing cards for book structures that include one, two, and three sections, as well as how to make a final book with the pattern of your choice. The first session includes an introduction to the sewing card and patterns, which participants will complete. Session two includes choosing a sewing card pattern and then creating a book. Depending on time limitations, it may be possible to make more than one book during the session. All skill levels welcome! Materials list and zoom link provided upon registration; minimal materials required.
