Come for a day of family fun at the Museum of Papermaking, organized in collaboration with the Paper Girls Show. This drop-in style event features, papermaking, spring origami activities, and the opportunity to make your own stop-motion paper animation. Videos from the Paper Girls Show and stop-motion animations will also be shown throughout the event.

 Come for a night of family fun at the Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking. This event is organized in collaboration with the Paper Girls Show. This drop-in style event will feature a papermaking station, winter themed origami activities, and a stop-motion paper animation station. Paper Girls Show videos and stop motion animations will be shown throughout the event. Additionally, the Paper Museum’s special exhibition Build It: create with cardboard! will be open for interactive fun.

We are excited to welcome families with children 8 years and older to come for a free cyanotype workshop, with guest artist Courtney Starrett. In this workshop Starrett will bring together art and science by utilizing cyanotypes, an early photographic process that uses sun, or UV light to develop the images. This workshop requires pre-registration and children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the program.

Find inspiration in the exhibit, A Collection of Artists: African American Works on Paper from the Cochran Collection, to create your own story through collage in this family workshop. Description: “Pop” into the fall season with this paper pumpkin activity! Learn how to take 2-dimensional, flat sheets of paper and turn them into a 3-dimensional pumpkin. Participants will layer multiple sheets of tissue paper together to create a honeycomb pattern that unfolds to make a pop’in pumpkin!
