As the name suggests, they were originally used in central China. Traditionally, women made them to carry sewing supplies: threads, scraps of fabric, needles, paper patterns, and other relatively flat treasures-- all folded and tucked into pockets. However, today they can be used to carry any small treasures! All skill levels welcome!
